Dorset’s darting sensation Scott Mitchell, known as ‘Scotty Dog’, has yet again reached the BDO World Championship and is set to continue his title challenge at 2:15pm today.

Facing up against Serbia’s Oliver Ferenc on day two of the World Championships, Mitchell hopes to recreate the success of his 2015 campaign which saw him take the top prize of £100,000.

2018 was a big year for Mitchell as he won the BDO Gold Cup, England National Championship and matched his best ever performance in the World Masters, reaching the semi-final.

Albeit being a former World Champion, ‘Scotty Dog’ didn’t start playing darts until he was 24, having moved on from his previous passion of motorcross. Even after discovering his love for darts, he’s still a big fan of the Poole Pirates speedway team.

Despite his growing success in the darts world, Mitchell is still a landscape gardener by trade and also keeps cows on his farm in Dorset.
