Dorset’s darts hero progresses into World Championships third round

January 8, 2019 by Sub Editor Leave a Comment

Scott ‘Scotty Dog’ Mitchell continues his hunt to reclaim the BDO World Championships after defeating Serbia’s Oliver Ferenc in the second round.

Mitchell, who still maintains his landscape gardening job in Dorset, raced into a two-set lead without dropping a single leg, completely bulldozing his Serbian opponent.

It took until the third set before Ferenc hit a double against Mitchell, which led to the final set being forced into a deciding leg.

With the set sat at 2-2, Mitchell eventually took out Double 8 to win the match and reach round three of the tournament he was crowned champion of, back in 2015.

‘Scotty Dog’ continues his campaign at the famous Lakeside Country Club with a matchup against Krzysztof Kciuk on Thursday at 1pm.
