January 11, 2019 by subeditor1 Leave a Comment

On this day, January 11th 1567, the first ever state lottery was held in England. 4o,000 entries at 10 shillings each were available from St Paul’s Cathedral.

Recently in Bournemouth, a raffle ticket holder hoping to win a £3 million luxury home or an Aston Martin, has been left with a consolation prize of £110,070. This was due to lack of ticket sales.
