BCHA reveals new plan to create new flats for homeless

January 18, 2019 by Sub Editor Leave a Comment

Bournemouth Churches Housing Association (BCHA) has put forward an application for homeless accomodation, in place of their current Bournemouth offices.

These plans are for 19 new ‘stepping stone’ flats, located at St Swithun’s house on the corner of Christchurch Road and Gervis Road, which would help provide for homeless people in the area.

The charity had previously put plans forward for a 24-flat plan in August. However, these plans were rejected, with concerns over the size of the proposed building and lack of parking.

The existing building is a Victorian villa, which is used as offices for BCHA. The charity helps local vulnerable and homeless people find accommodation.

The new application will be considered by the council in the coming weeks.
