Hundreds of kitesurfers gathered atthe seafront on Hayling Island, Hampshire, for the return of the Kitesurfing Armada Festival.

The Armada was founded in 2013, with the help of professional kitesurfer Lewis Crathern. It aims to represent the very best of kitesurfing.

This year the British Kitesurfing Championships took place, as well as the water being open to any kitesurfer to have a ride if they had a ticket.

Some international stars of the sport attended and also gave live coaching and demos straight from the beach.

As well as big fans of the sport, around 5,000 revellers came to enjoy the kitesurfing and also the food, music and general beach festival atmosphere.

The event is funded from sponsorship money and relies on volunteers to keep it running. This year was also the first time it went plastic-free, leading the way for other festivals alike.
