Taxi firm Ola plans to begin operations in Bournemouth

January 8, 2019 by Sub Editor Leave a Comment

Taxi firm Ola has plans to begin operations in Bournemouth.

Since its founding in India in 2011 the company has since expanded to Australia and also has licenses in the South-West of England and South Wales.

The firm intends to become ‘an intrinsic part of the transportation ecosystem’.

Bournemouth Borough Council has a meeting planned for 9:45am on Thursday 10th January in order to consider the license proposal put forward.

In the application they claim ‘It is Ola’s intention to be an inclusive transportation platform serving the mobility needs of its people in both a reliable and transparent manner and become an intrinsic part of the transportation ecosystem.

‘Ola will be the only mobile app offering both private hire vehicles and black cabs on its platform and steadily encourage adoption of ultra low-emission electric vehicles.’

Ola made its intentions to move into the town public at the end of November when it sent an overview of its business plan to the council before lodging its application for a private hire operators’ licence.
