AFC Bournemouth January transfer window rumours

January 15, 2019 by subeditor2 Leave a Comment

It’s the halfway stage in the January transfer window and AFC Bournemouth have made two high calibre purchases with the additions of Liverpool pair Nathaniel Clyne and Dominic Solanke.

Full back Clyne joined the Cherries on loan until the end of the season whilst England forward Solanke moved in a permanent switch worth £19 million.

Yet, with just over a fortnight remaining it remains to be seen whether boss Eddie Howe will make further additions and whether the Cherries may offload any of their star players.

Callum Wilson

Star striker Callum Wilson is at the centre of the transfer speculation storm with a host of Premier League clubs reportedly interested.

The Cherries have reportedly set an astronomical £75 million asking price for the frontman, who has scored nine times this season.

Chelsea and West Ham United are the frontrunners for his signature, but the Cherries remain in a good negotiating position after the 26-year-old signed a four-year extension in July.

Howe has already reiterated that Wilson is not for sale.

Ryan Fraser

Scottish winger Fraser is in high demand after a stellar start to this campaign.

Reports suggest both Everton and South Coast rivals Southampton are keen on the Bournemouth star who has already netted six goals and ten assists this term.

The 24-year-old joined the Cherries from Aberdeen for £400,000 in 2013, with his contract running out in 2020.

Nathan Ake

Central defender Nathan Ake is reportedly being tracked by former employers Chelsea.

Ake, 23, has emerged as one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League after his switch from West London.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri could take up a buy-back option on Ake in a bid to bolster his defensive options in a deal worth £40 million.

The Cherries secured the Dutchman on a £20 million permanent deal in 2017, following a successful loan spell during the previous season.

Howe will be reluctant to allow the defender to move at any price, but his hand could be forced if Chelsea activate their buy-back option to bring Ake back to Stamford Bridge.
